Coliban Water Rural System

> Rural Season Declaration 2008/2009

The Coliban Water rural season has opened on September 15 at zero percent of licenced volume.

> Carted Water Rebates

Customers reliant on the rural system for essential in-house use (excluding drinking water) are eligible to receive up to $100 per 10 kilolitres (up to a maximum of 50 kilolitres) for water carted between 1 November 2008 and 30 April 2009. Receipts must be submitted prior to 31 May 2009 to obtain the rebate, and conditions apply.

To access the rebate customers must provide an original receipt that includes:

> Customer name

> Address of delivery

> Cost and volume of water delivered

Please write your licence number on the receipt. Name and address details must be consistent with licence details.

The rebate will be credited to customer accounts - it is not a cash rebate.

Please note: customers who accept recycled water for the 2008/2009 season are not eligible for this rebate.

> Emergency Water Supplies

We are currently in discussion with the Department of Sustainability and Environment for the provision of emergency water supplies.

If an emergency water supply is offered this will be under similar arrangements to those put in place during the 2006/07 season when the opening allocation was also zero percent.

Two years ago about 100 commercial rural customers received an emergency supply of water to sustain permanent plantings, food production and intensive animal operations.

An emergency water supply is dependent on approval from DSE and sufficient water availability.

Customers who believe they may be eligible should complete an:

> Recycled Water Supply

Customers on the Axe Creek and Ascot channel systems will again be offered a recycled water as a supplementary supply*

Recycled water will also be offered to customers on the Cockatoo Hill channel system downstream of the Victoria Street syphon.

*The supply of recycled water is a supplementary supply outside the rural licence system.

> Fixed Charges Rebate and Billing

The Department of Sustainability and Environment offered a rebate last year to rural licence customers who had a season declaration of less than 40%. These customers were eligible for a rebate on the access and outlet charges.

Quarter One accounts normally sent in the first week of October will be delayed whilst a determination is made on whether a fixed charges rebate will apply this year.
